Extra small breed puppies experience rapid growth, with some weighing as much as 4 bags of sugar by 10 months old despite weighing as little as an apricot at birth. This growth period is critical for the development of their bones, muscles, senses, and nervous system. During this time, the antibodies that they received from their mother's colostrum weakened, making optimal protein intake essential for building their own immune system. ROYAL CANIN® X-Small Puppy is specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of extra small breed puppies aged 2 to 10 months old and with an expected adult weight of up to 4kg.
This tailored diet is enriched with omega-3 fatty acids, such as DHA, which support healthy brain development in puppies. It also contains beneficial prebiotics, such as FOS, MOS, and beet pulp, and highly digestible proteins that help maintain a healthy balance of intestinal microbiota for optimal digestion. Additionally, ROYAL CANIN® X-Small Puppy includes vitamins C and E to support the puppies' natural defences during the critical growth period when their immune system is developing. The formula also contains optimal energy content to meet the high-energy needs of fast-growing, extra-small breed puppies.
